Frequently asked questions

It's my first time to pole dancing, what should I wear?

Wear clothing that is form fitting, such as shorts, vests, crop tops, etc., that keep your arms and legs exposed for gripping the pole. You can go barefoot or wear socks, both are fine, and whatever works for you. You don’t need heels for our fundamental pole classes, but you may need them for the choreo/flow style class.

Please read each class description when booking to find out what is best for each class. Knee pads are recommended for most classes to protect your knees and provides more comfort when doing any sort of floorwork.

Is there parking at the studio?

There is no designated car park at the studio however there are multiple parking spaces available surrounding the studio. There is Boswell Car Park directly off of Fullarton Street, there is parking on Wellington Square, around the corner from Fullarton Street and there is on street parking beside the bus station which you can park for free for 2 hours.

Can I join a class if I'm running late?

Please arrive for your class on time, at least 5 or 10 minutes before the class begins. If you're late and miss a part of the warm up (applicable to pole dancing) or the start of the class/workshop we will not be able to let you join. This is to ensure the other class members are not being interrupted.

Are there changing rooms? (Applicable for pole dancing only)

Please come to class ready with your shorts/tank top etc underneath your clothes. At the start of class you can come in to the studio and get ready. There are no specific changing rooms however there is a bathroom in the studio if you wish to change in private.

What do I do when I arrive at the studio?

If you are on the side of the road that Ayr bus station is on, look across the street for the green door (next to the bar) enter through that close door and buzz flat 1R 6 Fullarton Street. We will buzz you in and then walk up one flight of stairs and the studio is on the right hand side with the black door. You will see our sign The Wellness Studio on the front door, if the door is not open please ring the bell and we will let you in.

What should I do to prepare for my first pole class?

Please don't wear body moisturiser/oils for at least 24 hours before your class. As this will make the pole too slippy to be able to use. Please also remove jewellery before your class such as rings, bracelets, and watches as uour hands and wrists should be bare. Earrings, belly button piercings, facial piercings and necklaces are all fine.

What if I need to cancel my class?

If you need to cancel a class please make sure to cancel class as soon as possible by using the booking system you used to book the class. We cannot accept cancellations via email/social media. If you cancel 48 hours before the class you will receive a full refund or your class credit (for pole dancing) will automatically be added back to your account to reschedule and use towards another class. There are no exceptions to this rule, so please do not contact to reschedule to a new class, as this will not be possible if you're cancelling within the 48 hour period prior to your class. Please follow the cancellation policy which can be found here for further guidance.
